COVID-19

Book your COVID-19 test at Rovaniemi here as soon as possible, but no later than Wednesday January 6! If you need to a test for your return journey to outside Finland, we can help you with that too.

Due to the current COVID-19 situation we are forced to undertake strict measures to ensure a safe event for everyone. For the members of the media, this means taking a COVID-19 test when you enter Rovaniemi from abroad or from the parts of Finland categorised into accelerating or spreading phases of the epidemic.

If you arrive from abroad, you must also take a COVID-19 test with a negative result no longer than 72 hours before leaving your country of origin and have a proof of that with you.

The test will cost 99€/person, see the form for more details. Please ignore the message from Mehiläinen about making a booking for your test. You can go to the test any time during the test station open hours. The tests are rapid tests that provide the result in about 1-3 hours and testing will be done in a drive-in fashion.

Mehiläinen Drive-In test station serves the following opening hours:
Sunday 10th from 8.30 to 11.30 and from 13.00 to 20.00
Monday 11th from 8.00 to 20.00
Tuesday 12th from 8.00 to 21.00
Wednesday 13th from 8.00 to 21.00
Thursday 14th from 8.00 to 21.00
Friday 15th from 7.30 to 14.30

You can go and take your test at any time suitable for you. Address of the test site: Sairaalakatu 1, Rovaniemi.

When you take the test, please, fill and hand out to Mehiläinen the following consent form that allows the test results to be delivered directly to our staff.

When you have completed your COVID-19 accreditation process, you are able to receive the media gear as well as a bracelet designating your possibility to visit our event sites. You need to wear the bracelet throughout the whole event when accessing the service park, special stages, or any other event site, as well as have your media pass visible. No person without the bracelet is allowed to access any event site, no exceptions. Please, wear the bracelet as soon as you receive it. If your bracelet breaks during the event, you can switch it to a new one at the Press Office by handing in the previous broken one. Also, do not enter the Rally HQ or Press Office before you have received your negative test result, if you have been required to take the test.

Access

Most mid-stage and stage end access roads appear to be in good condition and accessible using a standard road car. Stage starts are mostly very tightly plowed, so please do not attempt to access them unless you can find a parking place on other nearby road. Please do note that any parking on the main roads is forbidden and can be fined for by the police. And such fines were given last year.

The Saturday’s stages have very long closure times starting from 8am onwards. Media can access Saturday’s stages 2,5 hours before the first competitor with the PRESS PASS via the stage start control. With the PRESS PASS you can also use the closed access roads up to the stage any time. Still, please do note all stage starts are difficult to access and might mean you have to wait for the stage to be completed before leaving. Officials on the ground have been informed, but do make the final call in changing situations.

If you are doing recce during the rally week, please pay close attention to recce times allowed for competitors and be extremely cautious on the narrow roads. See the Official Noticeboard for competitors’ material on their recce.
